Thinglink is a Web 2.0 tool which allows users to add digital content (social media, video content, photos, etc.) to an existing picture. A picture all of the sudden becomes so much more, open to the creativity of each user and opening a single picture to content far beyond one picture alone.
Twitter is among the most powerful tools at our disposal for not only connecting our students with an entire world of information and human resources, but also for connecting our parents and community with the daily learning, events, and activities within our district.
Online stopwatch offers a free, easy to use, and visually appealing stopwatch to use for timing everything from cooperative learning activities to independent work time in class. The site/tool offers many varied options, including such varied timers as an "egg" timer.
A powerful online graphing calculator that allows students to evaluate and graph functions, as well as plot a variety of data. Useful at all levels of math and science, from Pre-Algebra to Pre-Calculus or Physical Science to Physics and beyond! And the best part....totally free!!
A wonderful app that allows for simple video creation by students with their own devices or classroom iPads. Students use pictures or videos, include their own voice overlays or annotations, choose a sound track, and produce wonderful HD quality videos in a matter of seconds. Get started with the excellent free plans and if you like what kids are creating, you can consider paid plans that simply let you do more.
Showbie allows teachers to create a location, accessible via an Ipad app and online (cloud-based), for storage of class materials and student assignments, projects, assessments, etc. Each student in a class will have a "digital folder" of sorts where they share materials to their teacher, who has access to the folders of all students in a class in one nice & neat location.
This IPad app allows teachers and students to record written notes and complete forms, etc. as if they were writing on a traditional piece of paper. The app is useful in the most significant sense for making a classroom "paperless" as students use it to take notes, complete assignments, answer questions on a test, etc. You can really do almost anything you would traditionally do on paper in class now using this app!
Pinterest is an online 'pinboard' where teachers can "organize and share things [they] love." A great tool to group resources, video links, lessons, etc
This application allows teachers to send reminders using mobile and email formats to students and/or parents about upcoming class information such as assignments, projects, assessments, etc. Students and parents can sign themselves up for the service, making the task of communicating easier for every teacher.

Easy to use and a true student favorite, Poll Everywhere allows students to respond to either a multiple choice or a free response question via their mobile phones. Students simply use a "short code" and text response code to respond and can almost immediately see responses as an entire class in real time. A wonderful, student-friendly, engaging tool.
Very similar to PowerPoint, Prezi allows teachers and students to creat online presentations in a simple, engaging manner. One great tool is the ability to seamlessly include Google Images or You Tube videos via embedded Prezi resources.
Educreations is available as an app for Ipads which allows teachers and students many functional applications similar to "Paint". Users can free write or draw, which makes the program particularly useful in math and science courses where problems can be worked and shared among students or with the whole class using mirroring. In addition, the app also allows users to take pictures, which is helpful for teachers who would like to assist students in scaffolding, revising, or correcting their work.
A wonderful tool for teachers across content areas wishing to integrate literature, geography, history, etc. Google Lit Trips offers a visual guide, via Google Earth, to both classic and contemporary novels.

A tool that is well, COOL, for learning a foreign language. Acessing everything from everyday sports scores to science and technology news, students can access self-paced language instruction with vocabulary development that is differentiated. Also is collaborative in allowing students to network with other users...language fluency is at hand!!!

Here is a simple Web 2.0 tool and app that allows users (students OR teachers) to create a digital book on a I-device. Students may engage in project-based learning to demonstrate a concept by creating their own digital book, complete with their own photos and recorded audio. The app is mostly free, but there some add-ons you may purchase relatively cheaply.
